N'waswitshaka Male Lions
ORIGIN
The 4 nomadic N’waswitshaka young males (ages approx. 4-5 years) were first viewed in the south of Sabi Sand Game Reserve in late 2018, accompanied by a young female who is most likely their sister.

December 2018
After an extensive tracking, session we located 4 lions – 3 young males and a young female – who we believe are breakaway lions from the N’waswishaka Pride. They were very nervous around the vehicles and assume they must have been kicked out of their pride recently and are nomadic at the moment and a bit unfamiliar in a new area.

N'waswitshaka River
The N'waswitshaka River (formerly N'waswitsake) and its tributaries are completely contained in the southern Kruger Park, Mpumalanga, South Africa. It has its origin near Pretoriuskop and joins the Sabie River at Skukuza. The name means "the happy one" in Xitsonga and is said to relate to an individual who always smiled.
